The ushistory.org site provides yet another summary of Lyndon Johnson's presidency. The summary covers his Great Society especially and the policies and reforms he worked for. As an economic reform, he signed the economic opportunity act of 1964 to create the Office of Economic Opportunity and establish a Job Corps to provide valuable vocational training. His Head Start program was to help disadvantage students arrive at kindergarten ready to learn. Social reforms included the Wilderness Protection Act, funding for American public schools, banning discriminatory requirements that denied African Americans suffrage, Medicare, raising safety standards for consumer products, as well as various others.
The summary is short; however, there are links to other sites to the left, with a short introduction on what the link offers, for more information on his programs and reforms. Provided links cover: Johnson's domestic policy, the review on Great Society, voting rights, background on Lyndon B. Johnson, his war on poverty, the LBJ Library and Museum, and Medicare. The site is easy to navigate, but it does not provide much a lot of information, as the page is just a summary. Nonetheless, there are also summaries and links of past events and the full American history provided under the dropdown menu.
